Delta State Tribes Unite at the 2018 Unity Picnic
On July 7th, all roads lead to Triangle, VA for the 2nd Biannual Unity Picnic!
Some of you might ask, "What is this Unity Picnic?"
Well, two years ago, 4 Nigerian Delta State tribes united in the DMV to promote harmony and form what is today known as the Unity Picnic. The experience was so enjoyable, that the Itsekiri, Urhobo, Izon-Ebi and Isoko tribes decided to do it again and plan a day filled with fun activities, good food and the opportunity to meet new and connect with old friends.
Over the course of the next few weeks leading to the big event, we will be blogging about the Unity Picnic, introducing you to these tribes and their respective organizations in the DMV area.
